Senior Adult/XYZ Activity Announcements October 27, 2009

Next Potluck Date November 19    

1.  Previously we voted to have our Thanksgiving dinner on the Thursday before Thanksgiving, which is NOVEMBER 19th.  I will make the turkey and dressing.  We will also have ham.  You bring your favorite veggie, salad, or dessert.  Hope to see you there.    

2.  TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR PAYMENT FOR BRANSON TRIP.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PAID!!!  We have begun a small waiting list (don’t have anyone at this time) in case there are cancellations, but please be reminded that after the final payment is made no refunds may be made, unless there is someone to take your place and they can deal directly with you.    

3.  Our CHRISTMAS GATHERING DATE is December 15th.  Instead of regular potluck we will have “Party Foods” (sausage balls, cheese balls, cocktail wieners, chips and dips, etc, etc. – you get the idea).  I will have further details next month.  Also, please remember to bring your individually wrapped candy to be bagged for the Christmas Food Boxes.  These may be brought either in November or December.  We will have a time of bagging after we eat in December.    

We have had a good turn out for the extra activities during this past month.  There were about 40 XYZ’s at John and Leah’s with a total of about 50.  I think that is great considering that it was so cold.  Everyone had a great time and lots of excellent food.  

Also, on Saturday the 24th we had 28 go on the bus to Petit Jean State Park for a picnic with the group of campers from FBC who were camping out for the weekend there.  The leaves weren’t outstanding, but a beautiful day for an outing.  Temperature was in the 60’s, near 70.   Everyone enjoyed the day very much.  Thanks to Cheryl for driving since Dutch was not available.
