The foundational principle that drives both of our choirs is that we are all about worship leading! We do not exist to perform or impress but to worship. We work hard at excellence but our bottom line is that we worship well – then people will not be drawn to our music, but rather to our “audience of One.” Both choirs are open to ALL who have a heart for worship and leading others to an encounter with God. If you would like to receive any more information regarding First Worship Arts Music please e-mail the Music Ministry at FWAM@fbccabot.org.

Praise Choir leads worship every Sunday in our 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship and is our “rock choir,” doing arrangements from the latest that’s available in Christian music, backed up by our Praise Band. Practice is every Sunday evening from 5:15-6:15 p.m.

Celebration Choir anchors our 9:00 a.m. blended worship experience and draws from a more longstanding choral tradition as well as from the music of today. This group rehearses Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00.

We also use a rotation of 2 or 3 person Praise Teams (affectionately known as BGVs – “background vocals”) for the 10:30 a.m. worship. These individuals are periodically selected on an audition basis.

The Praise Band at FBC drives our contemporary service at 10:30 a.m., bringing great energy, skill, and commitment. Let’s just say: this band rocks! Band members play by invitation and put in many hours to bring the excellence that FBC is accustomed to hearing from them on a weekly basis. In addition to the rhythm section (keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, bass, and percussion) we are blessed to have some amazing horn players adding that special dimension on many songs, as well as standalone instrumental numbers.

If you are at least in high school and play any kind of orchestral instrument, you are welcome to sit in with the Celebration Orchestra as they rehearse on Sunday nights at 6:30. As soon as a comfort level is achieved in the learning and performance of the music, you are welcome to join the orchestra as they provide the rich foundation for our 9:00 a.m. blended worship, complimenting the piano and organ.
