FAQs
Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to find out more about First Baptist Cabot. I hope as you check out our web site and visit our weekend services that you will consider becoming a more active part of our faith community. We would love for you to call First Baptist your faith family. Our goal is to communicate the message of Christ in the most effective way possible. Please explore all of the great opportunities that we have to offer.
In short, we are doing all we can to be the same kind of church described in the New Testament. Through age-appropriate and practical teaching, powerful times of worship and praise, authentic relationships, and a heart for those in need of the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, we want to make a positive and lasting impact on the world around us.

#1 -- "Isn't First Baptist too big? How can I ever get to know anyone else?"
If you have attended one of our weekend services you may have been a bit overwhelmed by our size. We are a large and growing church, in the same way that the New Testament church was a large and growing church. But as we grow larger, we also grow small. Our small group ministries are designed to form a network of friendships and care within the context of the larger worshipping faith family. As you continue to make yourself at home here, I would strongly encourage you to find a small group where you are comfortable and can develop authentic, safe, and lasting relationships with others who also are a part of this family.
#2 -- "But I'm a single adult?"
We are able to offer a wide variety of small groups, programs, and ministries at First Baptist for people of all ages, stages, and walks of life. Whether you are single, divorced with chidren, single-parent, married with no children, a student, a child, young, or retired, there is plenty of room for you and lots of ways for you to be involved.

#3 -- "What if I'm still not sure?"
If you are still just checking out this "church thing" and investigating the claims of Jesus Christ to be the true Son of God, thank you for allowing us to help you along the way. We would be glad to try and answer any questions you may have. If you are a devoted follower of Jesus who is looking for a place to mature in your faith as you serve others, you are also welcome. The Discover FIRST session on the 3rd Sunday each month, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. is a great way to learn more about us, what we believe, who we are, where we are going, meet other new folks, ask questions, and meet our pastoral staff. Our prayer is that no matter where you are along your spiritual journey, you will feel safe and right at home here at First Baptist.
Yes, our church is big. But each person who comes through our doors, regardless of where you are in life, is important to us ... because each person, including you, is important to God, created in His image, and the focus of Him sending HIs Son into our world.
